“Our mission is clear: to make innovative wellness therapies accessible and affordable for all communities”: How South London wellness space The Wholeness Pod is combining tech with holistic health

The wellness industry is evolving quickly, but access to advanced therapies designed to support physical and mental wellbeing still feels out of reach to many people. The Wholeness Pod, a family-founded wellness space in South London, is challenging that narrative by blending technology with a holistic approach to health. With spots in Sutton and Dulwich, co-founder Dinah Noel tells us how they’re making cutting-edge treatments like Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and Infrared Sauna more accessible, affordable and community-driven.

What is The Wholeness Pod?

The Wholeness Pod is a wellness-led, tech-enabled health space rooted in accessibility, education and community care. We currently operate from two London locations: Dulwich and Sutton. We provide advanced therapeutic treatments in welcoming and inclusive environments.

What’s your mission?

Our mission is clear: to make innovative wellness therapies accessible and affordable for all communities.

Too often, cutting-edge treatments are positioned as luxury services, something exclusive or out of reach. We’re intentionally disrupting that narrative. Wellness is not a privilege; it’s a necessity.

We actively partner with charities and community organisations to offer subsidised therapies for individuals living with chronic conditions and disabilities. For us, this work is about equity. Everyone deserves access to tools that support healing, prevention and longevity.

What kind of treatments do you offer and what are their benefits?

We currently offer five advanced therapies, each chosen for its ability to support the body’s natural recovery and optimisation processes:

  • HBOT 1.5 ATA Chambers (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy)
You relax in a pressurised chamber while your body absorbs higher levels of oxygen. This can help with healing, inflammation and overall recovery.
  • Far Infrared Sauna
Infrared heat gently penetrates deeply into tissues, supporting detoxification, improved circulation, relaxation and muscle recovery.
  • Red and Blue Light Therapy
Red light therapy supports skin health, collagen production and inflammation reduction, while blue light therapy can help balance certain skin conditions.
  • Cryotherapy
Brief cold exposure can reduce inflammation, aid muscle recovery, stimulate circulation and enhance energy levels.
  • PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy)
PEMF stimulates cells through electromagnetic waves, supporting circulation, tissue repair and overall recovery.

We are always transparent that our therapies complement – not replace – medical treatment. They are supportive interventions that work alongside conventional healthcare to enhance wellbeing.

Who comes to The Wholeness Pod and how have your therapies helped?

Our community is diverse and continues to grow. Many clients come to us seeking support for specific health challenges such as fibroids, endometriosis, cancer support, menopause symptoms, broken bones, dementia, stroke recovery, slipped discs and long COVID.

But it’s equally important to say that we also support a large number of wellness seekers – people who are not unwell but are focused on prevention, longevity and optimisation. These are individuals who want to improve energy levels, enhance recovery from workouts, support skin health, reduce stress or simply take proactive ownership of their wellbeing.

Prevention is powerful. We don’t believe wellness should only begin when something goes wrong. Some clients report improved sleep, better mobility, reduced discomfort, faster recovery times and increased mental clarity. For others, it’s about having a consistent, structured approach to self-care that supports long-term vitality.

We’re here for both healing and prevention – because both matter.

What is a myth about these kinds of therapeutic treatments that you can dispel?

The biggest myth? That advanced wellness is only for the elite. There’s a perception that therapies like these are reserved for celebrities or high-income households. We fundamentally reject that idea.

Wellness should not be aspirational; it should be accessible. Our entire model is built around challenging that narrative and ensuring communities that are often overlooked have access to tools that support healing, recovery and prevention.

Why is it important for these treatments to be more accessible?

Because health inequality is real. Across many communities, we see higher rates of chronic illness, stress-related conditions and delayed interventions. Access to supportive therapies can help restore agency and provide additional options.

When people feel empowered in their health journeys, families and communities become stronger. The world needs healing – and access is the starting point.

How do you root The Wholeness Pod in your mindful living ethos?

The Wholeness Pod is deeply personal for us. Before launching the business, one of our founders completed 47 consecutive daily sessions of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) after developing long COVID. Throughout the process, a journal was kept documenting physical and emotional changes. Experiencing the therapy first-hand provided a profound understanding of its impact and limitations, and reinforced the importance of informed, ethical practice.

As a family, we were raised with holistic values. We grew up eating home-cooked, whole foods and were always open to therapies and mindful practices that could enhance wellbeing. Nutrition has always been central to our lives, and we believe what we consume plays a significant role in how we function.

Travel is also an important part of our ethos. Exposure to different cultures and healing traditions reminds us that wellness has always existed, long before it became an industry.

The Wholeness Pod is not just a business. It’s an extension of how we live.

Who is the family team behind The Wholeness Pod?

We are siblings who each came from very different professional backgrounds. In 2023, we collectively made the decision to leave our careers and fully commit to building The Wholeness Pod.

Each of us brings different expertise – from operations and strategy to community engagement and research. Our strength lies in our diversity of experience and our shared purpose.

What binds us is lived experience, resilience and a deep desire to create something meaningful for our community.

What inspired you to launch the business?

Our journey began with loss. We lost our mum to cancer in 2011, and her experience exposed what we felt were serious gaps and negligence within the NHS system. That period shifted our understanding of healthcare and left us questioning what other options might exist.

Years later, our sister, who was born with a rare condition, experienced a cardiac arrest. During her recovery, she incorporated HBOT as part of her healing journey. Seeing its impact reignited conversations about access and alternatives.

While still working in our respective careers, we began studying and researching therapeutic technologies. Eventually, the calling became stronger than the comfort of our existing paths. We decided to commit fully and build The Wholeness Pod.

We were especially motivated by how many people in our community felt disconnected from their health, unsure where to turn, or excluded from advanced wellness spaces. We wanted to create something different.

What has been your biggest success and biggest challenge?

One of our proudest milestones has been partnering with the Multiple Sclerosis Society UK. Their belief in our mission was deeply affirming. To our knowledge, we are currently the only wellness-led business in the UK partnering with charities in this way to provide subsidised access to therapies.

Our biggest challenge has been funding. As a Black-owned business, securing financial backing has not been straightforward. Access to capital remains a systemic barrier. However, those challenges have strengthened our resolve. Representation in wellness ownership matters.

How would you like to grow The Wholeness Pod in the future?

Growth for us is about impact, legacy and access. In the UK, our vision is to expand The Wholeness Pod so that communities across London can benefit from these therapies. Ultimately, we aim to open Pods in every borough so wellness support is closer and more accessible to the people who need it.

Alongside this, we plan to create a flagship Wholeness Pod location: an immersive wellness Pod that brings together advanced therapies, education, community events and preventative health programming under one roof.

Internationally, we see expansion into the Caribbean and across Africa, regions we feel culturally and spiritually connected to. There is something powerful about building wellness spaces in places rich with heritage and natural healing traditions.

One of our long-term visions is to open a health hotel, a retreat-style environment where guests can combine rest, nutrition, therapeutic treatments and mindful experiences in one holistic stay.

“Cutting-edge treatments are positioned as luxury services, something exclusive or out of reach. We’re intentionally disrupting that narrative”

What can we expect from you in 2026?

Later this year, we will be launching The Wholeness Pod app. The app will allow our community to access bookings, education, guidance and wellness resources digitally, making support more flexible and far-reaching.

For the community at Jamii, growth also represents visibility and ownership. We want to show what’s possible when Black-owned wellness businesses are supported, platformed and believed in. We’re building intentionally – and we’re building for longevity.
