The role model for young Black girls with a passion
Sharon’s young daughter is a budding ballerina. She’s passionate about dance – and she’s talented too. But for all the ballet dolls, toys and music box figurines, every single one had white skin, and she could never find any that looked like her.
So Sharon dreamed up Nia Ballerina: a role model for her daughter and all young Black girls with a passion. First came the music box, with its twirling Black figurine, then came a doll, a backpack, a puzzle and more. Nia Ballerina is the inspiration young girls need to believe they can be and do anything.
