We’re giving £20,000 to Black-owned businesses this Christmas!

With the cost-of-living crisis and impending recession threatening small business survival, we’ve launched See It Through, an initiative to give four Black entrepreneurs £5,000 to see them through, with money donated by Airbnb. Read on to find out how to apply.

The past few years have been incredibly tough for small businesses in the UK. From Covid to a cost-of-living crisis, there have been constant threats to business survival – which only adds to the setbacks Black entrepreneurs are more likely to face.

We spoke to Black entrepreneurs and collected crucial data: almost 70% of them told us they aren’t certain they have the cash to support their business through a recession.

The data is seriously lacking when it comes to the needs of the Black business community. Our survey revealed the costs and concerns Black entrepreneurs are dealing with right now.

Almost 70% of [Black entrepreneurs] told us they aren’t certain they have the cash to support their business through a recession.

Sales usually soar at Christmas – but while shoppers are saving money, it’ll be even tougher for makers to stay afloat.

A whole £5,000?

Yes! If you’re a Black British maker, it could see you through the current crisis. £5k could help you manage rising costs, market to a new audience, or even buy essential equipment. It could be a game-changer for you and your business.

How to apply

If you’re a Black British entrepreneur who’s been negatively impacted by the recession, we want to hear from you.

What we want to know in your application is:

  1. What your business does
  2. How the cost-of-living crisis and recession have impacted your business
  3. What you would do with this £5,000 donation
  4. If applicable, how your business positively impacts your community or an important social cause
