5 Ideas For This Black History Month: Corporate Collaborations

Every October is Black History Month in the UK. As a marketplace, discount card and discovery platform for Black British creators, Jamii is always on a mission to celebrate Black culture, history and achievements.

From workplace gift boxes to expert-led classes, we know how to bring companies closer to independent Black creators. If you’re an organisation that wants to support positive change this October, find out more here about how we can work with you.

1. Jamii membership for the whole team

With Jamii membership, you can save up to 40% on purchases with Black makers. All year long.

Introduce your team to unique presents, personalised gifts, handmade treats and more. We’re all about backing talented independent makers – and we have over 250 of them on our marketplace. (Making a tidy saving is a nice workplace perk too.)

Jamii membership lasts for 12 months and a corporate offering works for teams of 15 or more. Head here to find out more >

2. Sign up to expert-led classes

Think cocktail-mixing. Bath bomb-making. Collage art. Our makers have honed their craft – and now they’re here to teach you too.

So spend October opting into some fun-filled initiatives to spice up the team’s lunch hour. A variety of our expert creators run classes for whether you want to get creative, learn a new skill, or just sweat it out.

3. Custom-made corporate gift boxes

Team rewards, thank you hampers, prize bundles. This Black History Month, swap out the usual suspects for treats by little-known Black makers. We’ll help you handpick a selection of original gifts crafted by the creators we partner with.

Our custom-made gift boxes have been enjoyed by survey participants, company team members, competition winners, and more.

So what about an uplifting art print from Deanna at Devoted Home? Or he ultimate sweet treats from The Shortbread Company? Diversify your offering with something special by a Black maker.

4. Get your team involved in a virtual marketplace

Our virtual marketplaces bring you closer to Black creators on the up – without even needing to leave your desk. Just log onto Zoom with the team and join in getting to know both the businesses and the talented makers behind them.

Expect brilliant backstories, essential product demos, and buzzing energy. Just like in a real-life marketplace. Ask as many questions as you like, from “Is this vegan?”, to “Will this work on my daughter’s hair?”, to “Which of your hot sauces is your personal favourite?”.

Our makers are proud to show you what they’ve been working on. And we’ll give you the URL links for every product mentioned – so your team can start shopping online immediately.

We’ve hosted virtual marketplaces over Zoom for organisations like ViacomCBS, CiscoMeraki and HugeInc.
