This small but mighty bottle of essential oils will not only moisturise your little one’s kurls but will it will also soften their kurls, leaving it feeling soft and manageable. To get the best use out of this hot oil treatment be sure to heat the bottle in hot water.
You can get the best use out of it in 5 easy steps below:
Step 1 – Shampoo to rid your little one’s kurls of any residue
Step 2 – Heat the Oil
Loosen the lid of the bottle, but do not remove the lid and place in a small bowl of very hot water. Leave the bottle to sit in the water for 3 minutes (do not submerge the cap of the bottle under the water). Test the heat on the back of your hand before use on your little one.
Step 3 – Apply the oil to your little one’s scalp
Gradually work the oil across their scalp massaging their scalp for 3 – 5 minutes. Don’t worry if some hair comes out, this was going to come out anyway, you are simply making room for new hair growth. The stimulating effect on their scalp will help encourage healthy new hair growth and rid their scalp of dead skin cells. Once you have thoroughly massaged their scalp work the oil outwards to the tips of their hair.
Step 4 – Cover your little one’s hair with a Shower Cap and or a Towel for 5-10 minutes
The shower cap helps application of hot oil treatments as this warms and opens hair follicles.
Step 5 – Wash it Out
Rinse your little one’s hair with clean warm water, the warm water will re-activate the oil to give it an extra boost of shine. Cool the water down and shampoo your little one’s hair, you may need to shampoo twice to ensure that the oil is completely removed.
TIP – In order to stop damage from heat, avoid blow drying, let your little one’s hair air dry for as long as possible.
